 The competition was intense!
Mr. Sinclair riding his unicyle at half time
The teams were getting ready to play "Minute to Win it"
The students had 1 minute to throw volley balls over the net. Their partner had to see how many they could catch in the basket.

Electronic Game Time was a big hit with the 5th grade for winning the annual Penny War

All Penny War proceeds went to "Give a Kid a Christmas"

Mrs. Steinke's 6th Grade Class Learn about Fractions with Pizza

Students used Pizza Fraction Packets where they were “slicing” pizzas and “topping” the pizzas according to customer orders. These activities helped to reinforce the jobs of the numerator and the denominator.

Congratulations to the 8th grade boys basketball team for an undefeated season!

Mr. Green's Kindergarten Class "Made in America" Project

Wow!  What a great and successful job my class and their families did on the project. We have somewhere around fifty items proudly made in America to send to the military family In California. The kids had a ball checking for the American flag and reading labels in stores (Shh, they don’t know I got them to look at hundreds of new words and practice reading on their own). Besides the families I would also like to thank two of Ida’s teacher assistants Mrs. Gunn and Mrs. Wobser for all their help. As well as Mr. Morelli and his students Mike Way and Job Muller for making the toolbox and donating the Craftsman screwdriver set. Karen St. Bernard of Old Country Treasures in Ida, MI donated the “Always Faithful” sign painted on a piece of barn siding from my family’s farm. I thought the translation from Semper  Fi  was fitting due to the fact it’s being sent to a U.S.M.C. family. All of the Russell Stover candy was personally donated by a store employee (Jessica Williams) who wanted to be part of the project. I hope the paper is able to let the public know how hard my class worked and how GREAT the Ida Public School’s family is.
I have attached some pictures and here is a list of some of the other items.
-          Big Wheel bike
-          Candle
-          American flag
-          Household decorations
-          Cleaning products
-          Christmas ornaments
-          Toys
-          Bird house
-          Books
-          Puzzles
-          Coloring book
-          Crayons and markers
-          …and many more
If you need any more details or information please feel free to contact me and have a merry Christmas!

Santa Claus came to Ida Elementary!

Thank you to Santa and his helpers for taking time out of their busy schedule to visit the children at Ida Elementary!

After trailing by 15 points at halftime the Varsity Boys Basketball Team took the lead with 4 minutes remaining in the game. They showed great determination, skill and courage during the comeback.
