Mr. Green's Kindergarten Class "Made in America" Project
Wow! What a great and successful job my class and their families did on the project. We have somewhere around fifty items proudly made in America to send to the military family In California. The kids had a ball checking for the American flag and reading labels in stores (Shh, they don’t know I got them to look at hundreds of new words and practice reading on their own). Besides the families I would also like to thank two of Ida’s teacher assistants Mrs. Gunn and Mrs. Wobser for all their help. As well as Mr. Morelli and his students Mike Way and Job Muller for making the toolbox and donating the Craftsman screwdriver set. Karen St. Bernard of Old Country Treasures in Ida, MI donated the “Always Faithful” sign painted on a piece of barn siding from my family’s farm. I thought the translation from Semper Fi was fitting due to the fact it’s being sent to a U.S.M.C. family. All of the Russell Stover candy was personally donated by a store employee (Jessica Williams) who wanted to be part of the project. I hope the paper is able to let the public know how hard my class worked and how GREAT the Ida Public School’s family is.
I have attached some pictures and here is a list of some of the other items.
- Big Wheel bike
- Candle
- American flag
- Household decorations
- Cleaning products
- Christmas ornaments
- Toys
- Bird house
- Books
- Puzzles
- Coloring book
- Crayons and markers
- …and many more
If you need any more details or information please feel free to contact me and have a merry Christmas!

Mrs.
Waldron will be chaperoning an Eighth Grade Class Trip to Washington D.C. next
school year. Hopefully, students and parents will embrace this opportunity and
participate in the trip. All costs for the trip will be the responsibility of
the parents but several fundraisers will be scheduled so that students will have
an opportunity to raise money and minimize trip costs. Our goal is to offer a
middle school trip to Washington D.C. regularly so that all students have the
opportunity to tour the nation’s capital.
The
Board of Education passed a resolution stipulating that Ida Public Schools
meets 7 of the 8 Best Practices as defined by the Governor. The district will
now receive approximately $75,000 in additional revenue for the 2013 budget
