HIGHLIGHTS FROM
THE BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING
December 9, 2013
T.H.A.N.K.S.
Incorporated will be using the Ida ball diamonds for their Winterfest
activities on February 14, 15, and 16, 2014. Tailgaters Helping Aid Needy Kids
Spirits gained their non-profit status in 2000 and have been helping kids and
families within the community ever since. They specialize in helping kids with
terminal or catastrophic illness.
The
Board of Education passed a resolution confirming that Ida Public Schools has
satisfied all 8 of the 8 Best Practices as defined by the Michigan Department
of Education. Therefore, the district will receive an additional $52 per
student this school year. The resolution will increase district revenue by
approximately $74,360.
The
Board of Education authorized the administration to work with a representative
from NEOLA to develop Administrative Guidelines to use in conjunction with the
newly created NEOLA Board Policy Manual. Together these two instruments will
ensure the district complies with all federal, state and local ordinances, laws
and regulations. The Administrative Guidelines will provide an excellent
framework for the general administrative practices of the district.
Ida
Public Schools’ administration is seeking applicants for the following
positions: middle school track coaches,
varsity girls’ track coach, high school golf coach and bus drivers.
Once
approved, the meeting minutes are posted on the district web-site at
www.idaschools.org.
