Middle School Penny War was a huge success!

The popular penny war and canned food drive began Monday, December 2nd and ran through Friday, Dec. 13th. Students put pennies in their own grade level bins and silver/bills in other grade level bins during lunch time. The grade that has the most positive penny count and lowest negative silver/bill amount are the winners. All proceeds go to "Give a Kid A Christmas" along with contributions from the high school, elementary, and PTA.

This year the proceeds will help out about 40 families in the Ida community.

Things students did to earn money to help the needy families of Ida

·         Ate a jalapeno pepper for 25,000 pennies
·         Did extra chores
·         Made and sold paper footballs (sold 30 for 5 cents each)
·         Walked dogs and sang Christmas carols
